German Sweet Chocolate Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. shortening
    2 c. sugar
    4 eggs, separated plus 2 yolks
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. baking soda
    2 1/2 c. sifted flour
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 c. hot water
    1 pkg. German chocolate
Preparation
    Cream together the shortening and sugar until smooth; add the egg yolks and blend well.
    Mix the buttermilk and baking soda and add to the mixture.
    Blend in the flour and vanilla.
    Melt the chocolate in the hot water and add.
    Mix well.
    Beat the egg whites until stand in peaks; fold into the cake batter.
    Pour batter into 4 layer cake pans that have been greased and floured. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 15 to 25 minutes.
    Check to see when done. Remove from oven and cool on racks.
