Alabama Chocolate-Praline Jumbo Christmas Mud Squares - cooking recipe

3/4 c. graham cracker crumbs
3/4 c. finely chopped pecans
1/4 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1/4 c. butter or margarine, melted
1 (12 oz.) jar commercial caramel topping
3 Tbsp. flour
1 c. butter or margarine
4 (1 oz.) sq. unsweetened chocolate
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 c. flour
4 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
Chocolate Frosting (see below)
sifted powdered sugar (optional)
pecan halves (optional)
candied cherries (optional)
Preparation

Combine the first 4 ingredients, stirring well.
Press crumb mixture into bottom of a greased 9-inch square pan.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 6 to 8 minutes.
Cool slightly.
