Beef Pot Pie(From 1975 Edition) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 lb. stewing or chuck beef
    1 Tbsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. pepper
    3 potatoes, quartered
    1 large or 2 small onions
    parsley to taste
    4 level c. flour
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. salt
    2 Tbsp. butter
    1 egg, beaten
    1 1/4 c. milk
Preparation
    To make dough squares:
    Combine flour, baking powder, salt and butter.
    Work together with fingertips.
    Add combined milk with egg and knead into a firm mixture.
    Cut in half and shape like pie crust.
    Roll out on floured board thin, about 1/8-inch thick.
    Cut into large squares 1 1/2-inches.
