Coconut Macaroons - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1/3 tsp. soda
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1 1/4 c. shortening
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    3 eggs, well beaten
    2 c. coconut
    1 c. oats
    1 c. chopped pecans
Preparation
    Heat oven to 350\u00b0.
    Mix flour, baking powder, soda and salt together.
    Work shortening until soft.
    Add sugar; work until mixture is smooth and creamy.
    Beat eggs; add to shortening mixture.
    Mix in flour mixture oats, nuts and coconut thoroughly. (May need to work with hands.)
    Roll into size of a walnut, place onto ungreased cookie sheet.
    Grease hands with butter or shortening.
    Makes 7 dozen.
