Quicky Pickled Beets - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 can (1 lb.) sliced beets
    1/2 c. Heinz vinegar
    2 Tbsp. sugar
    1/2 tsp. ground ginger
    1/2 tsp. ground allspice
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 medium onion, sliced and separated into rings (optional)
Preparation
    Drain beets reserving 3/4 cup liquid.
    Combine beet liquid with vinegar and next 4 ingredients in saucepan.
    Bring to boil; pour over beets.
    Refrigerate overnight in covered bowl.
    Onion may be added just before serving.
    Makes 4 to 6 servings.
