Ingredients

3/4 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. white sugar
1/3 c. flour
2 c. scalded milk
1/8 tsp. salt
3 egg yolks, beaten
1 1/2 Tbsp. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

In double boiler, combine sugars with flour and add hot milk gradually.
Stir constantly to make smooth.
Add salt and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally until thick.
Pour part of mixture slowly into egg yolks, stirring constantly.
Pour back into double boiler; mix well and cook 3 minutes.
Stir and add butter.
Cool and add vanilla.
Pour into pastry shell.
