Sauerkraut - Bohemian Style - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large jar Vlasic sauerkraut
    3/4 c. sugar
    1 medium to large grated potato
    1 medium onion, diced
    1 Tbsp. fennel seed
Preparation
    Pour sauerkraut into 2-quart pan.
    Add sugar, grated potato and diced onion.
    Cook at least two hours, stirring every so often. Check because it will dry out and burn, but add more water as needed.
    After about one hour, add the fennel seed.
