Miracle Cobbler - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. butter or margarine
    1 c. flour
    1 c. sugar
    1 tsp. baking powder
    1 c. milk
    4 c. fruit (fresh, canned or frozen)
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Preheat oven to 375\u00b0.
    Put butter or margarine in a large casserole dish; place in oven.
    When butter softens, spread over bottom and sides of dish.
    Prepare a thin batter by sifting together all the dry ingredients and stirring in the milk.
    Pour the batter into the buttered dish.
    Spread the fruit over the batter.
    Peaches, cherries, apricots or berries may be used.
    Bake for 45 minutes.
    The batter rises through the fruit and makes a brown crust.
    Serve slightly warm with whipped cream or ice cream.
