Old Fashion Bread Pudding - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 c. soft bread crumbs
    2 c. milk
    1/4 c. butter
    1/2 c. sugar
    2 eggs, slightly beaten
    1/4 tsp. salt (optional)
    1/2 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. fruit (may be fruit cocktail, sliced and chopped peaches, chopped apples or light raisins)
Preparation
    Place bread crumbs in 1 1/2 quart baking dish.\tMix the remaining ingredients together and pour over the bread crumbs. Dot with
    2 tablespoons more of butter.
    Place baking dish in larger pan
    and pour 1 to 1 1/2 inches of hot water in larger pan.

    for

    minutes\tor
    until silver knife inserted
    comes out
    clean.
    Serve warm with sauce on whipped cream
    (better
    if milk is heated before adding other ingredients).
