Caramel Icing - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 1/2 c. granulated sugar
1/2 c. sweet milk
1/2 c. melted butter (1 stick oleo)
Preparation

Place 2 cups sugar in pan. Add milk and melted butter. Into another small skillet, put 1/2 cup sugar and melt over very slow heat. At the same time, have first vessel heating slowly. When both mixtures are at boiling point, slowly add melted sugar to first mixture, beating constantly as added. Allow to boil up for about 1 minute (by the clock) or until soft-ball. Remove and add 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until consistency to spread.
