Butterscotch Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. brown sugar
    2 c. granulated sugar
    3/4 c. light corn syrup
    3/4 c. whipping cream
    1 c. water
    1 c. butter (not margarine)
    1 tsp. salt
    4 tsp. vanilla extract
Preparation
    Combine sugars, corn syrup, cream and water.
    Cook, stirring, until sugar dissolves to very hard ball stage (260\u00b0).
    Add butter and cook to light crack stage (270\u00b0).
    Remove from heat; add salt and vanilla extract.
    Pour into two large shallow pans.
    When cool, break in pieces.
