French Vanilla Ice Cream(Club Member: Ashley Wilson) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 c. milk
    3 egg yolks
    1 Tbsp. vanilla
    2 c. chilled whipping cream
Preparation
    Mix sugar, salt, milk and egg yolks into saucepan. Cook over medium heat. Stir constantly until bubbles appear around edge of mixture in pan. Cool to room temperature.
    Stir in vanilla and cream. Pour into freezer can and put dasher in place. Cover can. Fill freezer with alternate layers of ice and rock salt. Turn on mixer. Let run until it stops. Let ice cream set until it ripens.
