Chinese Chews - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. chopped nuts
    1 c. dates
    1 c. sugar
    1 c. sifted all-purpose flour
    2 eggs
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
Preparation
    Cream sugar and eggs until fluffy.
    Add salt and baking powder to sifted flour.
    Mix dates and nut meats in flour mixture; add vanilla.
    Mix well with sugar and egg.
    Pour into well-greased shallow pan.
    Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes.
    Cool and cut in squares.
