Fudge - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    2 Tbsp. cocoa
    3 Tbsp. butter or cream
    1/3 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. syrup
    2/3 c. milk
Preparation
    Mix all but butter and vanilla.
    Stir until sugar is dissolved.
    Cook to 225\u00b0 or until soft-ball stage.
    Cool, then add butter and vanilla.
    Beat until it begins to get firm.
    Pour on buttered platter.
