Gumdrop Orange Slice Fruit Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. pitted dates, chopped
    1 lb. gumdrop orange slices, chopped
    1/2 c. candied cherries
    2 c. nuts, finely chopped
    1 c. coconut
    4 c. flour
    2 c. sugar
    5 eggs
    3/4 c. margarine
    1 tsp. soda
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    Chop
    all
    fruits, nuts, coconut and candy.
    Mix in one bowl and
    mix
    1/2 cup flour with fruit.
    Cream the margarine and sugar;
    add eggs.
    Sift soda with flour.
    Add alternately with buttermilk.
    Add
    vanilla.\tMix
    alternately
    with fruit mixture. Pour
    in
    greased tube pan.
    Bake 2 hours at 300\u00b0 or less.\tRemove from pan and ice while still hot.
