Peanut Brittle Candy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. white sugar
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. corn syrup
    1/2 c. water
    1 tsp. salt
    1/4 c. margarine
    3 c. peanuts
    1 1/2 tsp. baking soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation
    In heavy pan, combine sugars, corn syrup, water and salt. Cook and stir until sugars dissolve.
    Cook to a boil.
    Stir in margarine; cook to soft crack stage.
    Add peanuts and stir. Continue to cook until hard crack stage; remove from heat. Quickly add the soda, mixing well.
    Pour into greased or buttered pans.
    When cool, break into pieces.
    Makes about 2 pounds.
