World'S Best Oatmeal Cookies - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 eggs, well beaten
    1 c. dark raisins
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1 c. shortening or oleo
    1 c. brown sugar
    1 c. granulated sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    2 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    2 c. regular dry oatmeal
    1 c. nut meats, chopped
    2 1/2 c. flour
Preparation
    Combine eggs, raisins and vanilla and let stand at least 2 hours or overnight.
    When ready to make cookies, cream together shortening, brown sugar and white sugar.
    Sift salt, soda, cinnamon and flour.
    Stir flour mixture into sugar-shortening mixture and blend well.
    Beat egg-raisin mixture into mixture. Add oatmeal and chopped nuts.
    Dough will be stiff.
    Chill dough for a better shaped cookie.
    Drop dough by spoonful on cool ungreased cookie sheet.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
    Do not overbake.
    This is a chewy cookie.
