Onion Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 lb. onions
    1/2 small head cabbage
    4 Tbsp. oleo
    1 Tbsp. flour
    1/4 tsp. salt
    2 cans beef broth (14 oz.)
    1/4 c. dry sherry
    4 (3/4-inch) slices Italian bread
    shredded Cheddar cheese
Preparation
    Slice onions and cabbage.
    Brown both in oleo.
    Cook until tender.
    Add flour, broth and sherry.
    Simmer.
    Slice bread in 3/4-inch slices.
    Toast slices in jelly roll pan at 450\u00b0.
    Place toast on soup in oven-safe bowls.
    Sprinkle cheese over bread. Place bowls on pan in 450\u00b0 oven for 20 minutes.
