Italian Cream Cake(From The Files Of Ola Dortch Williams) - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. sugar
    1/2 c. Crisco
    1 stick oleo
    5 eggs, separated
    1 c. buttermilk
    1 tsp. soda
    1 tsp. vanilla
    pinch of salt
    2 c. sifted flour
    2 c. coconut
    1 c. pecans
Preparation
    Mix first 3 ingredients; cream and add egg yolks.
    Mix soda and buttermilk together and add to other ingredients with flour, vanilla and salt.
    Blend well and fold in coconut and nuts.
    In separate bowl, beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter. Best cooked in 3 layers, but can be packed in large two layers or large Bundt pan.
    Depending on size of pans, bake about 40 minutes at 350\u00b0.
