Broccoli-Cheese Soup - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. chopped onions
    2 Tbsp. butter
    3 Tbsp. flour
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    2 c. milk
    1 c. shredded American cheese
    2 chicken bouillon cubes
    1 1/2 c. water
    1 bay leaf
    3 c. fresh or frozen broccoli
Preparation
    In large saucepan, cook onions in butter until tender.
    Stir in flour and pepper until well blended.
    Add milk gradually. Cook, stirring constantly until thickened (about 1 minute).
    Add cheese; stir until melted.
    In medium pan, dissolve bouillon cubes in water.
    Add bay leaf.
    Bring to boil.
    Add broccoli.
    Cook until tender.
    (Do not drain liquid.)
    Add to cheese mixture and stir until well blended.
    Remove bay leaf.
    Makes 5 to 10 servings.
