Apple Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine
    15 1/2 oz. pineapple, undrained (crushed or chunks)
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/4 c. flour
    2 apples
    medium size Cool Whip
    nuts, cherries (optional)
Preparation
    Cook first four ingredients in saucepan until thick.
    Cool slightly (15 to 20 minutes).
    Peel and chop apples.
    Fold into mixture.
    Put in 9 x 9-inch dish.
    Chill.
    Top with Cool Whip. Garnish with nuts or cherries.
