Iranian Beef Curry - cooking recipe
Ingredients

2 lb. lean round steak or chuck roast, cut in 1-inch cubes
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 c. onion, sliced
1 c. applesauce
3 Tbsp. flour
1 to 3 tsp. curry
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1 (10 1/4 oz.) can beef broth
2 c. tomato sauce
1 1/3 c. raisins
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
Preparation

Brown meat in hot shortening.
Add onion and applesauce; cook until onion is tender.
Blend in flour, curry powder and nutmeg. Add beef broth and tomato sauce, raisins and brown sugar.
Cover and simmer until meat is tender; about 1 1/4 hours or bake in oven at 325\u00b0.
Serve over hot rice.
