Six-Layer Casserole - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 c. cooked long grain rice
    2 c. cooked ham, diced
    1 c. sliced green onion
    2 c. broccoli flowerets
    1 can cream of tomato soup (10 oz.), mixed with equal amounts of half and half (or cream of chicken or mushroom)
    1 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    salt and pepper to taste
    fresh herbs, sliced tomatoes or green peppers (for garnish)
Preparation
    Butter a large casserole or deep dish pie pan.
    Cook broccoli and green onion in a little water with a dash of salt for 5 to 6 minutes.
    Drain well.
    In a bowl, combine tomato soup and half and half.
