Egg Yolk Pastry - cooking recipe

5 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. lard
cold water
4 tsp. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 egg yolks
Preparation

Combine dry ingredients and cut in lard.
Place egg yolk in measuring cup and stir with fork until smooth.
Blend in enough cold water to make a scant cup full.
Sprinkle gradually over dry ingredients, toss with a fork to make a soft dough and roll out as usual. Makes pastry for three 9-inch (2 crust) pies.
