Chilies Rellenos - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    4 egg yolks
    4 egg whites
    1/4 c. flour
    3/4 tsp. baking powder
    1/4 tsp. salt
    1 small onion, chopped
    2 c. shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
    6 canned green chillies
    3 Tbsp. oil
Preparation
    Beat egg yolks until thick and lemon colored.
    Beat egg whites in a separate bowl until stiff peaks form.
    Fold beaten egg whites into egg yolks.
    Sift in flour, baking powder and salt.
    Mix well gently.
    Combine onion, Cheddar cheese and stuffed canned chillies.
    Dip in batter, coating well.
    Fry in oil until brown on all sides, turning once.
    Drain and serve.
