Apple Bars - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 1/2 c. flour
    1 Tbsp. sugar
    1 tsp. salt
    1 c. shortening
    1 egg yolk
    milk
    2 c. Rice Krispies or Wheaties
    1 tsp. cinnamon
    1/4 tsp. nutmeg
    3 Tbsp. flour
    2 Tbsp. lemon juice
    1 c. sugar
    2 cans apple pie filling or 5 to 6 apples
Preparation
    Mix flour, sugar and salt and cut in shortening.
    Mix like pie crust.
    Put egg in measuring cup and fill to 2/3 cup with milk. Mix well.
    Divide into 2 parts.
    Rolls better if you chill for awhile.
    Roll 1/2 of dough and put into a pan, 10 x 15-inch. Sprinkle Rice Krispies on dough.
    Top with apples, sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, flour and lemon juice.
    Beat egg white and pour over crust with a pastry brush.
