Chili Con Carne - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 Tbsp. vegetable oil
1 medium onion, chopped
1 medium red or green pepper
1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 (32 oz.) can tomatoes
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. fines herbes
30 oz. red kidney beans
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
chili powder to taste
Preparation

Cook onion and garlic in oil until tender.
Add chopped pepper.
Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking up lumps.
Add herbs and spices; mix well.
Add tomatoes and tomato paste.
If chili gets too thick, add some water.
Best served the next day with Italian or garlic bread.
