Bread And Butter Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    8 qt. cucumbers
    5 large bell peppers
    1/3 c. salt
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    6 large onions
    3 cloves garlic
    3 c. vinegar
    1 1/2 tsp. celery
    1 tsp. turmeric
Preparation
    Soak cucumbers, onions, peppers and garlic with salt poured over ice water for 3 hours; drain.
    Heat cucumber mixture, sugar, vinegar and spices to boiling.
    They will turn yellow.
    Seal in jars.
