Ingredients

2 1/4 c. sifted flour
4 eggs
1/2 tsp. anise oil
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. sugar
Preparation

Sift flour, baking powder and salt together several times. Beat eggs at low speed until frothy.
Turn mixer to medium; beat 10 minutes longer.
Beat in sugar, 1 tablespoon at a time; takes about 7 minutes.
Turn mixer to low speed.
Add dry ingredients slowly; beat 15 minutes longer.
Blend in anise.
Drop from teaspoon onto 5 to 6 greased cookie sheets.
Work quickly!
Allow to stand in a cool place for several hours or overnight.
Top of cookie should be dry to touch.
Bake at 325\u00b0 for about 12 minutes.
