Oatmeal Cake - cooking recipe

1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. white sugar
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. Quick Quaker oatmeal
1 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
Preparation

Stir boiling water and oatmeal.
Let stand 20 minutes.
Cream the shortening, sugars and eggs. Add flour, soda, salt, vanilla and cinnamon. Add cooled oatmeal. Bake in a 9
13-inch greased pan for 35 minutes at 375\u00b0.
