Beef Burgundy - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. ground lean ground beef
    1 large onion, chopped (Spanish, sweet)
    1 large can V-8 tomato juice
    1/4 c. ketchup
    Tabasco
    Maggi sauce
    1 can button mushrooms
    1 hunk Cheddar cheese
    1 c. instant quick cooking rice
Preparation
    Optional:
    One-half cup of Burgundy wine may be added while simmering rice.
    (Alcohol is simmered away in the cooking.)
