Quick Caramel - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. Margarine
    1 c. Corn syrup
    1 x 15 oz. can Condensed milk
    1 tsp. Vanilla
    1/8 tsp. Salt
    2 1/4 c. Brown sugar
Preparation
    Melt the butter, stir in the sugar and salt.
    Add syrup and mix well.
    Add the milk, stirring constantly, cook until it reaches 245\u00b0 on a sugar thermometer.
    Immediately remove from the heat. Add vanilla and pour into a well buttered 9-inch square pan.
    Cut when cool.
