Enchilada Sauce For Chicken Or Beef Enchiladas - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    2 Tbsp. margarine or oil
    1 onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    16 oz. can tomatoes
    1 tsp. sugar
    1 tsp. cumin
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. oregano
    1/2 tsp. basil
    1 tsp. chili powder
Preparation
    Saute onion and garlic in margarine or oil.
    Add remaining ingredients and simmer 30 minutes or 45 minutes.
    Pour over enchiladas.
    Just before baking, top with cheese.
    I use this sauce for chicken or beef enchiladas and for Spanish rice.
