Key Lime Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 envelope unflavored gelatin
    1/4 tsp. salt
    4 egg yolks
    1 tsp. finely shredded lime peel
    1/2 c. lime juice (fresh)
    1 or 2 drops green food coloring
    4 eggs whites
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 c. whipping cream
Preparation
    In saucepan,
    combine
    1/2 cup sugar, gelatin and salt. Beat egg yolks,\tlime
    peel,
    lime
    juice and water until well blended. Stir
    into
    gelatin.
    cook
    and
    stir
    until mixture thickens slightly.
    Remove from heat, stir in food coloring to tint green. Chill until partially set, stirring mix occasionally.
    Beat egg whites
    to\tsoft peaks. Gradually add 1/2 cup sugar, beating until stiff peaks form.
    Fold lime mixture into whites, whip cream
    to soft
    peaks,
    fold and chill until mix mounds.
    Fill
    into crumb
    crust.
    Garnish
    with
    chocolate shavings.
