Shrimp Chowder - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 lb. shelled shrimp
    5 medium sized potatoes
    1 large onion
    2 cans chicken broth
    1 c. water
    3 c. milk
    1 1/2 c. grated sharp cheese
    2 tsp. parsley
    1 Tbsp. butter
    salt and pepper
    oregano
    1/2 c. celery (optional)
    1/2 c. carrots (optional)
Preparation
    Fry onion in butter until soft and colored.
    Add boiling water and chicken broth.
    Add potatoes, seasonings, celery and carrots and simmer for 25 minutes.
    Add shrimp and simmer for 5 minutes. Add milk and stir in grated cheese.
    Heat, but be sure not to scald, the milk.
    Add parsley and simmer 15 minutes.
