Louise'S Crispy Pickles - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    25 to 30 medium fresh cucumbers
    8 large white onions, chopped
    2 large bell peppers, chopped
    1/2 c. salt
    5 c. cider vinegar
    5 c. sugar
    2 Tbsp. mustard seed
    2 Tbsp. celery seed
    1 tsp. turmeric
    1/2 tsp. cloves
Preparation
    Wash cucumbers and slice as thin as possible.
    Combine with chopped onions and bell peppers.
    Add salt; let stand at least 3 hours.
    Drain.
    In large pot, combine vinegar, sugar and spices, except turmeric.
    Bring to a boil.
    Add vegetables that are well drained.
    Heat thoroughly, but do not boil.
    Add turmeric.
    Pack into hot, sterilized jars and seal at once.
