Chewy Cake - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1/4 c. shortening
    1/4 c. butter or margarine
    2 c. brown sugar, packed
    2 eggs
    1 tsp. vanilla
    2 c. self-rising flour
    1 c. nuts
Preparation
    Melt shortening and butter over low heat. Remove from heat and mix in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Stir in flour and nuts. Spread in pan and bake 20 to 25 minutes at 350\u00b0. Cool before cutting.
