Baked Apples - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    apples (Gala, Roma or McIntosh)
    sugar
    brown sugar
    cinnamon stick
    vanilla bean
    lemon peel slices
Preparation
    Cut off a slice at top and bottom of each apple; core each apple.
    Butter the top and dip in vanilla flavored sugar.
    Put apples in heavy baking dish.
    Put large slice of lemon peel in each cavity.
    Fill cavity with dark brown sugar.
    Sprinkle with cinnamon over top.
    Place a vanilla bean in dish along with 1 or 2 cinnamon sticks.
    Bake in a 400\u00b0 oven until cracks appear around the rim of apples (approximately 30 to 40 minutes depending on type of apples.)
    Serve warm or cool with vanilla ice cream.
