Rhubarb Cake - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1/2 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 egg
1 tsp. soda
1 1/2 c. chopped rhubarb
1/3 c. chopped nuts (optional)
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. buttermilk
2 1/2 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 c. sugar
1/3 c. nuts, chopped
1 tsp. cinnamon
Preparation

Cream shortening, sugar and egg.
Add soda, vanilla and buttermilk, then flour, salt and cinnamon.
Beat well.
Stir in chopped rhubarb and 1/3 cup nuts (if desired).
Pour into greased 9 x 13-inch pan.
Sprinkle top with mixture of 1/3 cup sugar, 1/3 cup nuts and 1 teaspoon cinnamon.
Bake at 350\u00b0 for 30 minutes or until done.
