Quick Cherry Dessert - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. (2 sticks) butter or margarine
    1 1/2 c. sugar
    4 eggs
    1 tsp. almond extract
    2 c. all-purpose flour
    2 tsp. baking powder
    1 (21 oz.) can cherry pie filling
Preparation
    Cream together butter and sugar.
    Add eggs. Beat until light and fluffy.
    Add the almond extract. Stir in the flour and baking powder.
    Mix until smooth.
    Butter a 13 x 9-inch cake pan.
    Turn the mixture into pan.
    Spoon the pie filling into the cake in 16 spots. Bake at 350\u00b0 for 45 to 50 minutes.
