Crusty Cornbread - cooking recipe
Ingredients

1 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tbsp. sugar
1 Tbsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 egg, beaten
1 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. bacon drippings
Preparation

Combine first 6 ingredients; mix well.
Add egg and buttermilk.
Stir until smooth.
Place bacon drippings in a 9-inch cast-iron skillet.
Heat at 425\u00b0 for 5 minutes.
Remove skillet from oven and pour hot drippings into batter; mix well. Quickly pour batter into skillet.
Bake at 425\u00b0 for 20 to 25 minutes or until golden.
