Luscious Layered Torte - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 pkg. chocolate cake mix
    2 pkg. (4 oz. each) Baker's sweet chocolate
    3/4 c. butter or margarine, softened
    1/2 c. chopped toasted almonds
    3 1/2 c. or 1 container (8 oz.) Cool Whip
Preparation
    Prepare cake mix as directed on package.
    Bake in 2 greased and floured 9-inch layer pans.
    Cool and split each layer to make 4 layers.
