Summer Tomato Sauce - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    6 ripe plum tomatoes, cut into 1/4-inch cubes
    1/2 c. coarsely chopped pitted black olives
    3 scallions, cut into thin diagonal slices
    1 clove garlic, minced fine
    salt to taste
    freshly ground black pepper to taste
    8 whole fresh basil leaves, slivered
    1/4 c. olive oil
    1/2 lb. shaped pasta (penne, ziti or fusilla), cooked al dente and drained
Preparation
    In a large bowl, combine the tomatoes, olives, scallions, garlic, salt, pepper and basil.
    Gently toss in olive oil.
    Cover and let stand for at least 2 hours for flavors to develop.
    To serve, toss the cooked pasta into the prepared sauce and serve at room temperature.
