Ingredients

1 1/2 lb. lean ground beef (round or chuck)
3/4 tsp. salt
3/4 tsp. pepper
1/16 tsp. sugar
2 Tbsp. margarine or butter (at room temperature)
4 tsp. French's bold and spicy mustard
1 c. chicken broth, mixed with 1 tsp. lemon juice
4 Tbsp. minced shallots or white part of green onion
Preparation

In a large bowl, mix meat with 1/4 teaspoon salt, the pepper and sugar until well blended.
Shape into four (1 1/4-inch) thick patties.
Sprinkle remaining salt evenly over bottom of large skillet.
Place over medium heat until skillet is hot.
Add patties; cook until browned and to desired doneness, 4 to 5 minutes per side for medium.
Remove to serving platter; keep warm.
