Cracker Pie - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 egg whites
    1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
    pinch of salt
    1 c. sugar
    1/2 to 1 c. nuts
    1/2 tsp. vanilla
    1/2 pt. whipping cream
    10 soda crackers or 12 saltines (maybe 18 to 20)
Preparation
    Beat egg whites until foamy, not stiff.
    Add cream of tartar and continue beating until very stiff.
    Add sugar.
    Fold in crackers, which have been crumbled into the size of peanuts.
    Add nuts and vanilla.
    Pour into buttered pan.
    Bake at 325\u00b0 for 15 or 20 minutes.
    Serve with unsweetened whipped cream.
