Sauerkraut With Brown Sugar - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 large jar sauerkraut, drained and rinsed well
    1 or 2 medium onions, chopped or sliced
    1/2 c. brown sugar (more if desired)
    salt and pepper to taste
Preparation
    Saute onions in butter or margarine until just opaque.
    Remove from skillet.
    Add more butter and lightly brown sauerkraut. Reduce heat, add onions, salt, pepper and brown sugar over top of kraut.
    Cover and simmer 1/2 hour.
    Wieners or precooked spareribs can be added, if desired, for a one dish meal.
