Lemon-Cheese Jello Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 (3 oz.) pkg. lemon flavored gelatin
    1/4 c. sugar
    1 small can crushed pineapple
    1 c. cold water
    1/2 c. broken nuts (optional)
    1 c. Cheddar cheese
    1 (9 oz.) carton Cool Whip
Preparation
    Combine gelatin, sugar and pineapple.
    Cook until all sugar is dissolved.
    Add 1 cup cold water and chill until it reaches syrup stage.
    Fold in nuts, grated cheese and Cool Whip.
    Chill until firm.
