Green Tomatoes, Fried - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    3 firm green tomatoes
    1 egg
    3 Tbsp. milk
    1/2 tsp. salt
    1/4 tsp. white pepper
    1 c. flour
    1/4 c. cracker crumbs
    dash of salt
    1 c. vegetable oil (for frying)
Preparation
    Rinse, trim and cut tomatoes in 1/4-inch slices. Beat egg with milk, salt and pepper. In another bowl, combine flour, cracker crumbs and a dash of salt. Dip tomato slices in the egg mixture, then in the flour mixture. Heat oil to 350\u00b0 in a heavy skillet and gently cook tomato slices about 3 minutes on each side. Drain excess fat on a paper towel. Serves 6.
