Pickled Pineapple - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 c. pineapple chunks
    1/2 c. cider vinegar
    1 c. sugar
    1/8 tsp. salt
    1/2 tsp. whole cloves
    1 stick cinnamon
    1 maraschino cherry
Preparation
    Drain syrup from pineapple.
    Measure 2/3 cup and pour into saucepan.
    Add the next 5 ingredients.
    Bring to boil, then simmer for 10 minutes.
    Pour at once over pineapple chunks.
    Ladle into gift jar.
    Arrange cinnamon stick and cherry in jar.
    Fill to overflowing with liquid.
    Cover and cool at room temperature, then refrigerate.
    Keep refrigerated.
