24 Hour Salad - cooking recipe

Ingredients
    1 head lettuce, chopped
    2 small onions, sliced
    1/2 c. celery, sliced thin
    1 can water chestnuts, sliced
    1 (10 oz.) box frozen peas
    2 c. Hellmann's mayonnaise
    3 tsp. sugar
    1/2 lb. bacon, fried hard and crumbled
    1/2 c. Parmesan cheese
    2 or 3 hard-boiled eggs, sliced
Preparation
    Mix mayo and sugar.
    Put in layers with mayonnaise in the middle and on top.
    Cover and let stand in the refrigerator for 24 hours.
    Toss when ready to serve.
